FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Buying and Downloads
How do I get my file after I buy it? Instantly. After checkout you'll see a download button right on the confirmation page. You'll also get an email within a few minutes with a download link. If it doesn't show up, check your spam or promotions folder — download emails land there more often than you'd think.
What file format will I receive? All Steady Nickel products are delivered as PDFs. Some products also include a Google Sheets tracker (delivered as a "Make a copy" link so you get your own editable version) and a printable PDF version of the tracker.
What devices can I open the files on? Anything. PDFs open on phones, tablets, laptops, and desktops — no special software needed. If you're on a phone or tablet, most will open the file automatically. On a computer, any PDF reader works (Adobe Acrobat, Preview on Mac, your browser, etc.).
My download link isn't working. What do I do? Try a different browser first — some browser extensions block automatic downloads. If that doesn't work, email us at hello@steadynickel.com with your order number and we'll get your file to you personally. We will never leave you without the product you paid for.
Do my download links expire? No. You can re-download your files anytime from the link in your confirmation email.
Can I access my files on multiple devices? Yes. Download the PDF to as many of your own devices as you'd like.
About Our Products
What exactly do you sell? Digital investing guides, templates, checklists, and toolkits — all delivered as downloadable PDFs. Each product walks you through a specific investing topic step by step, in plain English, using small-dollar examples ($50, $100, $500 — not $50,000 hypotheticals).
Who are these guides for? People who want to start investing but aren't sure what to do first. Our products are built for beginners — whether you're investing your first $50, setting up a custodial account for your kid, or just trying to figure out the difference between a Roth IRA and a traditional IRA. If you've been meaning to start but feel overwhelmed by conflicting advice, that's exactly who we made these for.
I already know the basics. Will I still get value? It depends on which product you're looking at. Our Tier 1 guides ($7–$15) are built for true beginners. Our mid-tier guides ($19–$35) cover specific strategies like dividend investing, bonds, and REITs that even people with some investing experience find valuable. Check the product description — each one clearly states who it's for and what it covers.
Are these personalized financial plans? No. Steady Nickel products are educational guides — they teach investing concepts, strategies, and systems. They don't account for your specific financial situation, tax circumstances, or risk tolerance. For personalized advice, we recommend consulting a fee-only fiduciary financial advisor.
Do you sell courses or subscriptions? No. Everything is a one-time purchase. You buy it, you own it, you keep it forever. No recurring charges, no memberships, no "premium tier" that locks away the important content.
How often do you update your guides? At least once a year. Every product carries an "Updated [Month Year]" stamp. When contribution limits change, fee structures shift, or platform features update, we update our guides — and existing buyers get the updated version for free.
Printing and Using the PDFs
Can I print these? Absolutely — they're designed for it. Every page is built to stand on its own when printed, and we test every product in both color and black-and-white before publishing.
What size paper should I use? US Letter (8.5" × 11"). If you're outside the US and prefer A4, email us — we can help.
Can I edit the PDFs? The PDFs themselves are not editable — they're designed documents meant to be read and followed. However, the companion Google Sheets trackers that come with many products are fully editable so you can plug in your own numbers.
What about the trackers and worksheets? Trackers come in two formats: a Google Sheets version you can copy and edit digitally, and a printable PDF version you can fill out by hand. Use whichever fits how you work.
Licensing and Sharing
Can I share this with a friend? You can share what you learned — talk about the concepts, walk someone through the steps in your own words. But please don't share, forward, or upload the file itself. Each purchase is a single-user personal license.
Can I use these in my classroom, workshop, or business? Not with a personal license. But we're happy to work something out — email us at hello@steadynickel.com and tell us what you have in mind. We'll figure out a fair arrangement.
Can I resell or redistribute the files? No. The files are for your personal use only. Reselling, redistributing, or uploading them to any website or file-sharing service isn't permitted.
Refunds
What's your refund policy? 14 days, any reason or no reason. Email us at hello@steadynickel.com with your order number and we'll process your refund within 3 business days. You keep the file. Full details on our Refund Policy page.
Do I have to explain why I want a refund? No. If it wasn't the right fit, we'd rather give you your money back than have you feel like you wasted it.
What if I bought a bundle and only want to return part of it? Bundles are refunded as a whole purchase. We can't split-refund individual guides within a bundle.
Trust and Transparency
Do you earn affiliate commissions when you recommend a brokerage or fund? Never. When we mention Fidelity, Vanguard, Schwab, or any other platform, it's because we believe they serve beginners well — not because anyone is paying us. We have zero affiliate relationships and zero referral arrangements.
Do you promise specific investment returns? No, and we never will. Anyone promising you a specific return is either lying or selling something. Investing involves risk, including the possibility of losing money. We teach systems and strategies — not predictions.
Why should I trust a brand with no face? Because we'd rather earn your trust through the quality of our work than through a personality. Our guides either help you or they don't — and our 14-day refund policy means you can find out with zero risk. We also don't hide behind the facelessness: every email to hello@steadynickel.com gets a real, personal response.
How is Steady Nickel different from free content on YouTube or Reddit? Free content is great for learning concepts, but it's scattered — a video here, a Reddit thread there, a blog post from 2019 that may or may not still be accurate. Our guides give you something free content doesn't: a clear order of operations. Step one, step two, step three — with your actual dollar amounts, in a single document you can follow from start to finish.
